After quitting from my sales job, i am now working at Mak Digital Enterprise. Been working here for almost 6 month which is quiet surprise that I stayed in this company for soo soooo long. I learn lot of stuff at this company compare to the previous sales job. My roll is to edit the video taken by my company’s videographer, most of video that taken is from wedding ceremony, either Chinese style ,Indian or christian. I will explain , what usually i need to do with these video that taken from the videographer.

First things that I need to do is capture the video and convert the video from analog format to digital. I don’t actually know whats the diff between analog and digital type, the only diff that i know is analog video is more clear and the resolution is better then the digital type, I need to ask my boss more detail about the diff between analog and digital thingy LOL.

So, after capture the video and store into the comp. My company were using this software called “PINNACLE STUDIO”, video editing  software, took like 3-4 days for me to get use to it. There is a lot of function in this s/w , like white balance , black and white , speed adjust , dream border etc etc. This s/w is not very user friendly , take time to understand how it works if u are 1st time using it.

After put  in all these scene, the 1st things i need to make sure is that  the sound is played  normally as in not too loud or too soft. For this sound thingy there is like mono type, left mono type etc etc, just need to adjust the correct channel . 2nd things i need to do is check the scene there is any mistakes did by the videographer  like the scene is too expose to light and make the scene become too bright, miss shot by the videographer like shoting the floor or the scene been blocked by somethings. So if there is any miss shot , i need to edit it like reconfigure the white balance, contrast, brightness if the scene is too bright and cut the scene that blocked by stuff. In order to these, i need to make sure that after i cut the miss shot scene, the movie will still show normally like “never” been edit before, this is the hardest part in the whole editing process and also is the part that require a lot of skill to do it.

After ensure every scene is showed clear and clean, i will put in those effect like “fade” , “miss” , “slow speed” , “dream border” to make the video more interesting. A part from that, i would need to choose the suitable song for the video. This is the most time consuming part for the whole editing process, as in need to make the video looks more smooth and nice with the effect, the video is already 80% done after finished this step.

The last step is putting up all the date , tittle, photo of the bride and groom, DVD controlling function for the movie. Final part is burn the video into the DVD and print the DVD with putting in the groom and bride photo to make the DVD nicer. Normally the whole editing process will take around 3-4 hours,  some will take longer depending how long it the video been shot.
